Pendant Lights

Lighting has taken on a world of its own. No longer are standard fixtures adorning homes everywhere, but lighting has become personalized and distinctive. With the abundant pendant lighting available now, fixtures can even stand as works of art, and with small pendant lighting, whether hung alone or in groups, small spaces or large ones can be lit with artistic flair and style.

Small pendant lights can add a huge punch of style to any space. There is a such a large selection on the market that it is not difficult to find just the right piece for the space. Some are designed from hand-blown glass or wear artfully crafted fabric shades. Others are made from different types of metal, copper pendant lights being one of the most popular.  The shapes range from delicate bubbles and traditional trumpets to modern cylinders, contemporary boxes, and capiz pendant light fixtures.  You can get nautical pendant lighting through small pendants as well.  Colors range as much as materials and shapes, and by coordinating them with the decor and style of the space, the lights can not only be a source of light, but also a focal point and reflective of the homeowner’s personality.  And they aren’t just for the home: they have become very popular for schoolhouse pendant light fixtures.

Once the multi pendant lights are chosen, the next thing to do is think about how they will hang. Whereas sometimes a pendant light will look best on its own, other times, they look stunning hanging in numbers. For instance, in a smaller powder room or small bar area, a single light will stand out. If the space is just a bit larger, a line of evenly spaced lights will work well, and remember odd numbers are best for design, so think of groups in threes or fives. Another great display method for these lights is a cluster, where a number of them are hung close together at varying heights.

When hanging, take into consideration the style of the lights. A sleeker light with length from top to bottom and a narrower width may work better in a cluster than a wider, shorter one, and maybe a sleeker light will do in groups rather than a more embellished one that will give off a busy look. Do not be afraid to combine colors, either. If the lights that are chosen come in a few tones, the combined look of more than one color may be just what the space calls for in a hanging display.

The cluster of multi light pendants can also take the place of a larger fixture and create its own look similar to a chandelier. Think outside the realm of bar areas and bathrooms, and imagine a group of small pendant lights in a foyer or over a dining room table. The effect will not only cast a lovely glow of light, but also be a stunning piece that will stand out in any spot.
